Nutcracker Contest Rules & Entry Form

JUDGNG IS ON SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 2024 AT THE NUTCRACKER MUSEUM

ENTRY FORM AND CONSENT FORM DEADLINE:  JUNE 10, 2024

School Class Ending 2024 -----  Grades 1-4  Grades 5-8  Grades 9-12

CONTEST RULES: The design must be the student's own, using their own imagination. It must be able to crack a hazelnut. If the student receives help of any kind from an adult in the construction of the nutcracker, this must be written in detail, and the judges will take this into consideration along with the age of the student. Honor system will apply.

Entry forms must be received by June 10, 2024 at the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum 735 Front Street, Leavenworth WA 98826 and must include a photo of the completed nutcracker. Actual nutcracker must be received at the museum on Saturday, June 15, 2024 between 9:30 am and 10:30 am or any day before.

IMPORTANT - Please be sure to write your name on the bottom of your nutcracker. The name must match the name of the student on the Entry Form.

On June 15th contestants need to be ready to demonstrate their nutcracking device for judging between10:30 am and 11:30 am. Winners will be announced at 1:00 pm. All nutcrackers will remain on display for public viewing until 4:30 pm. They may be picked up any time after 4:30 pm.

Nutcrackers can also be donated to the Nutcracker Museum's permanent display to be admired by thousands of visitors to the museum each year. Final decision for nutcrackers displayed in the museum are at the sole discretion of the Museum Curator.

If you live out of the local area, you can still participate in the contest. Your nutcracker can be sent to us along with the required Entry Form and Consent Form. Please insure your package and arranged to have it received no later that June 10, 2024. One of our museum representatives will be happy to demonstrate it for the judges. 

The Nutcracker Museum cannot be held responsible for any damage that should occur to a student's nutcracking device or any injury to the student.
